Shortcake came to us after a plea for help after he was found lying in a busy street after being hit by a car.  Shortcake's jaw was broken, his lip had to be reattached and he had severe nerve damage to his right front let.  We tried to save it, but ultimately our vet determined he would never regain use of a leg that just dragged on the ground.  Shortcake did so well and was climbing a cat tree in one week!  He's the most resilient little kitty who fought so hard to live.  

Shortcake made friends with his foster cat family and blossomed when he was well enough to meet them. He would struggle to stand up to greet them early on in his recovery and purred non-stop when he saw his favorite kitty friend.  Shortcake has been an inspiration to Paw Placement and lesson in the combined healing powers of human love and other rescue cats to encourage you to and cheer you on.  Way to go Shortcake!
