Beckham came to us via our rescue partners in Northern AZ. He was rescued and living in a temporary foster home before being transported to Paw Placement.

He was named by his previous foster family and we can only guess they chose this name due to his athleticism and endurance! This boy is very much a border collie - always on the go, wanting to play with the other dogs, chase a toy, and race around the yard - and he's working on learning to just chill out in his current foster home. He's currently lying on the rug, chewing an antler, having tired out every other dog playmate in the home long ago! Beckham is still very much a puppy in that he is active and hyper and a ball of energy. He is smart and eager to please, affectionate and aggressively snuggly, sweet and silly.

Beckham most certainly needs a home with an equally active doggie playmate, or perhaps a very active owner, and one that understands/has experience with the drive of a working/herding breed. Beckham is not a dog for a first time dog owner, nor will he do well in a lazy household. Beckham loves to bike, run and hike, and he's great on a leash! Beckham is not appropriate for an apartment setting; he requires a house with a yard. He's a great medium size, and his hair is a mixture of soft, supple border collie and coarse husky - and he sheds similarly. He is crate and house trained in his foster home.
