Mystery and her siblings are the puppies of our survivor mama dog, Story. At 8 eight years old, Story had lived her entire life outside on a reservation, birthing litter after litter. Story is now safe with Paw Placement, and her very last litter of puppies is ready to find forever homes. Story appears to be some kind of medium (40 pounds) mix of Shiba Inu and herding breed. While dad is unknown, based on location, herding breed such as Australian Shepherd is a good guess.

These puppies will likely be medium to medium/large when full grown, and are energetic, intelligent, playful, affectionate and strong willed herding breed mixes. They'll require experienced dog owners who are ready to invest time and patience into training. They are doing very well with house training in their foster home and, as with all young puppies, they'll require lots of continued training in their forever homes including crate, house and potty training, and lots of socialization. These puppies are not appropriate for an apartment setting; they require a house with a yard.

Please note: socializing dogs, especially young dogs, is critical to their development. Puppies need to have positive experiences with new people, places, sounds, dogs on a WEEKLY basis to ensure they do not grow into insecure, fearful or even aggressive adult dogs. Please consider this when adopting during this pandemic. Socialization is currently more difficult, but it isn't any less important, so please be sure you can fulfill this need in a new dog before committing to adopt.

A note from foster mom: Mystery is really chill and easy going. She’s adventurous, and reserved in the way she expresses herself. She’s always slinking around me, hanging out by my side but she doesn’t demand my focus be her. New experiences are no big deal, although she does seem a bit more relaxed when her siblings are around to support her.

**We anticipate a large number of applications for this litter of puppies and, therefore, we will only be reaching out to approved applicants in order to schedule meet and greets. We apologize if you don't receive a reply regarding your application and thank you in advance for your understanding.
