Strawberry came to us, having been abandoned at a shelter, at four weeks old, nearly bald from sarcoptic mange. Because this type of mange is highly contagious, she had to be isolated from both dogs and people until the mange was gone, estimated to take 1-3 months. Luckily for Strawberry, she's an overachiever and, by her 8-week birthday, 30 days after treatment started, her skin scrape was negative and she could begin to live a normal life!! Strawberry is smart and picks up on training quickly. She is spunky and energetic, and spends much of each day romping, wrestling and running with her doggie foster siblings. She is also sweet and affectionate, and loves her cuddle time on the couch. Strawberry is strong willed and feisty, and she's looking for an owner with strong breed experience. She also needs a home with a doggie playmate who can keep up with her! Strawberry's breed is an absolute mystery. She's from the reservation in northern AZ, and that is populated with mostly herding breeds, so we're guessing she's some mix of shepherd and cattle dog. Strawberry is not appropriate for an apartment setting, she requires a house with a yard. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application.
