Ribeye is SUCH a GOOD boy!! We know very little about his life before coming to Paw Placement, other than he was found in the desert, emaciated and nearly bald from demodex mange. He spent 2.5 months in a shelter in northern AZ, where they treated him for the mange and got a little weight on him. Because Ribeye is such a sweet and submissive boy, he didn't do extremely well in the shelter environment, but BOY is he FLOURISHING in his foster home!

His foster parents welcomed him by giving him a ribeye steak, hence the name. He ate that ribeye in about 2 minutes flat, and will inhale any food he's given just as quickly, so a slow bowl is essential for this boy. We understand his desperation to eat, as he was clearly starving before he was rescued, and we're working to teach him to slow down, that he'll always have food.

Ribeye is extremely eager to please his people, and has taken to living in a home with many other doggies (and kitties! with close supervision during interactions as he likes to chase when they run) very well. He loves, loves, loooooves to play with other dogs, and we'd very much like to place him in a home with a doggie playmate. We will want to match energies appropriately - Ribeye is the kind of dog who can be easily bullied, so we are looking for a dog who is not dominant or "alpha" to be his playmate. Ribeye has discovered the joys of chewing on antlers and nylabones, and this helps to occupy him when it's quiet time. Ribeye picked up on his crate training quickly, and is doing well with his house training, as well.

Ribeye is not appropriate for an apartment setting, or a rental property as he will fall under breed restrictions.
