Elmer Fudd and his gang of goofy siblings came to Paw Placement via a rescuer in Page, AZ. They, like so many before them, were left in a box at the edge of the reservation at just days old. Luckily for these babies, some kind souls stepped in and got them started on their path to happily ever after.

Elmer looks very much like a border collie and cattle dog mix, so we guess he'll be a medium (40-60 pounds) sized dog. Of course, without knowing either parent, there is no guarantee regarding either breed or size.

Elmer is a smart and outgoing young puppy. He is energetic and playful, spunky and active, affectionate and friendly. Elmer is also a working breed dog, so he is looking for a home that understands what this means and is ready to provide an appropriate lifestyle. Elmer will need structure, discipline and exercise first and foremost in his life, in order to ensure he grows into a well balanced adult dog. Elmer requires a home with a yard; apartments are not appropriate for this breed.

A note from Elmer's foster mom: Elmer is the smallest of the whole litter, most laid back in the bunch, when you call him over his tail starts wagging and he gingerly makes his way over to you. He's a great kisser, not a huge fan of the pool (he hops out as soon as I dip him in), he likes to instigate play with other dogs but I think he’s still learning how to (he’ll just go sit in front of the puppy he wants to play with, and watches them while wagging his tail until the other pups starts to play with him), and he’s not overly persistent when other dogs don’t want to play.

Elmer will be ready for adoption in late April/early May, and we are accepting applications now.
