Clarissa was found as a stray and, after a search for owners, Paw Placement welcomed her into our family. Clarissa appears to be a wire haired dachshund mix, with a long body, short legs and scruffy coat.

Clarissa is a happy-go-lucky kind of girl. She hasn't met a dog or a human she doesn't immediately love, and we would prefer that she go home with a doggie playmate or two. Clarissa loves to race around the yard with her doggie friends, romping and playing like the young girl she is. She also enjoys chewing on bones and antlers, and cuddling with her humans. She's very affectionate and, when not playing, likes to be by her human's side.

Clarissa had been diagnosed with disc disease, causing some weakness in her rear end. She tends to wobble when walking, and her rear legs can give out on her. She is not in any pain, and this does not slow her down - she lives with a number of dogs, and she runs and plays right alongside them! The vet has determined this is likely chronic, rather than acute, which is another reason it is believed she is a dachshund mix.

Clarissa is mastering her crate and house training in her foster home.
