Shortcake and her brothers were being given away for free online, listed as German Shepherd and Dachshund mixes. A kind soul who understood this spelled trouble for any dog snatched all 3 puppies up and got them into rescue.

Shortcake is now a loving foster home with lots of furry friends. She is great with other dogs, and we'd prefer to place her in a home with a doggie playmate. She is also great with children and is young enough that she'd be just find with cats, as well. As her name implies, she has short legs like a dachshund and a large body like a shepherd. Though we can't know how big she will be, our guess is anywhere between 45-65 pounds.

Shortcake loves to swim in the pool, romp with her doggie friends, chew on her bones and antlers, and cuddle with her humans. She is mastering her crate and potty training in her foster home. As with all young puppies, she will require lots of continued training in her forever home including crate, house and potty training and, perhaps most importantly, lots of continued socialization.
