Scotch was surrendered to Paw Placement by owners who could not care for a puppy. Scotch is a fun loving and friendly little guy. Scotch adores other dogs, and would love to find a home with another playful doggie (or, if you're looking for two, Gideon is his best friend and is also available for adoption) to romp with. Scotch hasn't met a human he doesn't love, and he's eager to be out and about, exploring the world with his people. Though he enjoys the occasional cuddle, he isn't much of a lapdog, and prefers to lie by himself on his dog bed. Scotch is crate and 90% house trained in his foster home. Scotch is looking for a very special owner, in part because he is a bit of a special needs pup. Scotch came to us very sickly - throwing up, awful diarrhea, skin and bones, and refusing to eat. After much testing, we discovered that he suffers from severe IBS. We've been able to get weight on him and he's now a happy, active and energetic puppy, but his condition will mean a lifelong restricted diet. He is currently on prednisone and a hydrolyzed protein food ($26 per bag, which lasts him about a month). He will always have dietary restrictions and his forever owners will need to work with a vet and, ideally, a dog nutritionist, to ensure he stays healthy and happy. If you are interested in adding Scotch to your forever family, please complete an adoption application. We are looking for just the right match for this special boy!
