Rikki and her sister Tallulah are a part of the Gallup 12, a group of pups we rescued from Gallup NM because they had run out of time in the shelter. Tallulah and Rikki were quaking in their boots at the pound ... for this reason, potential adopters ignored them. Well, shelters can be scary if you don't know whats going on. This doesn't mean that trembling dogs are scaredy cats., When we first met Tallulah and Rikki they hid in the back of their crate. We spoke softly to them. "Thump thump" went their tails. We gave them a cookie. This, they happily accepted. We pet their velvety ears and they gave us kisses. Once the sisters knew they could trust us, their eyes brightened up and they got a spring in their step. Just look at Rikki's picture! At first she wouldn't even make eye contact but after a few minutes of reassurance she was so happy, we couldn't even get her to stand still for a picture. She was wag-a-liscious! But at least we captured her great smile., Now they are looking for their forever homes. They are beautiful girls who may be adopted together or separately. Each is house-trained.
