Terrier Mix

One of our Paw Placement volunteers got called from a homeless person who lived in a very bad part of Phoenix. She said that there were two dogs hiding under mattresses along side the road and that at night they were being attacked by two wondering stray pit bulls. These two dogs were very scared. Our volunteer went down to where the dogs were and with alot of patience and a hand full of leftover Thanksgiving turkey...the scared, thin and beat up dogs carefully approached. Our volunteer gently talked to the dogs and after awhile had them licking her fingers. She reached out and petted their heads and reassured them that they would be safe now. She carefully picked up the female and took her to safety and the male quietly followed. The female is Cleoppatra...and she is a wonderful dog...a little shy...but once she knows she is safe with you..she is anxious to please. Won't you consider giving this dog the safe home she has never known?
