Paw Placement has a volunteer who works at Animal Care & Control. She sees on a daily basis all of the animals who are abandoned at the kill-shelter and never leave it. She also knows which dogs are likely to get adopted and which great dogs will not, for whatever reason. Little Homer is one of those great dogs. He wasnt showing well - he was nervous and fearful in his cold kennel. In addition, he was in pain -- his front paw had been slammed in the kennel slider and bones were broken. , Thanks to our volunteer, Homer is now thriving in foster care. His foot is all fixed and when the cast comes off, he will be as good as new. His ribs no longer poke through the sides of his body - he is fattening up and his coat shines with health. Homer gets along well with other dogs and doesnt seem to mind cats. He is a little shy initially but warms up to people very quickly. He is house-trained and a well-mannered roommate., Homer is looking for his forever home. We will never know why this gentle creature was abandoned at a kill-shelter. We do know that he is a great little guy who will make a perfect canine companion for someone looking for a docile lap dog.
