Chiquita was found roaming on her own, hugely pregnant. Attempts to find her owner were unsuccessful. When she gave birth to her puppies, Niki and Gigi, she was a great mom. Now that her pups are weaned, she is ready for a home of her own. , Chiquita is a tiny chihuahua. She also hasnt been treated very well in her life, we suspect. She can be fearful when humans she does not know reach down for her. When I first met Chiquita, she gave me a little growl when I reached for her. She was frightened in a new place, surrounded by people she didnt know. I sat on the ground next to her, spoke gently and she crawled into my lap gladly. She just needed to know that I wasnt as big and scary as I looked standing over her. , I carried her around for the rest of the day. This is all Chiquita wants in life - to be held and cuddled. She bonds DEEPLY with her primary caretaker. Because of Chiquita's small size, we recommend she go to a home where children are older, and the home is not real loud and chaotic, but she would also do well with a older person that has time to spoil her, If you love chihuahuas, you will love Chiquita.
