Whippet/Coonhound mix

Julius is a gorgeous young dog that was pulled from the E-list at the , pound. He came into rescue skinny, dirty and covered in ticks. Well his , foster Mom soon fixed, the dirty part and treated him for the ticks - boy was she surprised at , the lovely dog that was hidden underneath it all! Julius still needs to , gain some weight and should, mature out at around 40lbs. , At some point in the past someone had put a , chain collar around his neck - the horrible people didn't adjust the , collar as he grew up so, the collar actually began to grow into his skin. Julius is healing up , very nicely from his wounds but may always have a little bit of hair , loss around the back of his neck, from scar tissue. , This boy is an absolute sweetheart and simply adores , people! Like many young dogs he has a short attention span but his , foster Mom is working on, teaching him to focus. , Julius is learning his basic commands and how to , walk on a leash. He is also being taught not to potty in the house and , to sleep in a crate at, night! , He is a very smart boy that is very willing to please his people , his new parents will need to commit to further obedience training with , him. Julius is relatively, quite in the house - content to follow you around from room to room. , This boy is an energetic dog but he isn't hyper! one long walk (or two , shorter walks) per day and, fifteen or twenty minutes of playing fetch in the backyard meet his , exercise requirements. , Due to being an exuberant puppy we recommend he , goes to a home with, children eight years and above as he might knock little ones over - he , loves kids though! Julius doesn't mind sharing his home with feline , friends. He is very friendly, with other dogs and would love to go to a home with another young , playful dog. If you are looking for an all around good dog that'll keep , you laughing with his, personality quirks Julius might be the dog for you! Just one of the , funny things about him - he loves having his nose rubbed! it puts him , right to sleep. If he's, standing he'll become relaxed enough to actually fall over!
