Dolly's Story - What we know: Dolly was abandoned with a very young litter of puppies in a church parking lot in July. Temperatures were soaring above 110 degrees. People saw her young pups and took them, selling them for a profit. The pups were two weeks old and far too young to be separated from their mama. We can only hope that the babies survived, but we doubt it. Dolly was left outside with her milk sacs bursting. She was in pain, homeless and frantic for her babies. A kind couple took her in and sought help from rescue. That is how Dolly came to Paw Placement., Report from Foster Home: Dolly is initially insecure until she knows she is safe. She is a very affectionate dog who warms up to women first. It took only minutes for her to affiliate with her foster mama and about a day and a half for her to warm up to her foster daddy. She likes to sleep at the feet of her humans and she has impeccable house manners. She is 100% house-trained. In foster care, she shares a home with three cats and two dogs (which include a very bossy chihuahua). She interacts with all animals gracefully and even kisses her grouchy chi buddy. Dolly is a loyal creature and learns instruction quickly. She is eager to please. At night, Dolly has the option to sleep uncrated or crated. She chooses to go into her big crate and retires there the whole night with the door open. She is a dog who is no trouble whatsoever., Her milk sacs are drying up and she is getting her svelte doggy figure back. Dolly will make a great family pet or canine companion for anyone seeking a dog who is cool as heck. She is content to chill out with her humans but will never turn down a chance to go for a walk. , Dolly came into foster care as a lost soul. She was tentative and unsure that her food bowl would always be full - that she would always have a cool, soft place to rest and where kindness is a fact of life. She has blossomed in the few short weeks she has been with us. She runs outside with ears up and confidence in her stance. She makes eyec contact. She greets us excitedly. And at the end of the day, she lays her head in our laps and gives a contented sigh.
