Andy has the sweetest face on the planet. However, before you fall in love, it is important to understand this dog's personality. Andy and his litter mates were tossed in a backyard and received little human interaction as they grew up. As such, Andy is initially fearful of new situations and people. He is NOT aggressive. He is shy. Here is the good news: Once Andy feels secure in his environment (adjustment may be an extended period of time), he becomes as angelic as his face. Anyone who is interested in meeting Andy must be prepared for an extended adjustment period - which will render the most rewarding results, we promise. The true rescue stories are those involving animals with issues. And please, don't let the word "issues" scare you. Andy will need a loving, structured and patient home and he will become the doggie of your dreams. We also prefer that he go to a home with another canine. Andy really bonds with other dogs and uses them as a gage for behavior. He is submissive so will get along with most canines. We also believe that Andy will flourish in a quiet home without children. Small human beings frighten him. Look into Andy's face . . . if you are someone who really wants to give a neglected dog, a second chance, Andy is your guy. He might tremble at first, but on the day Andy decides to love you and runs happily to greet you, you will understand why animal rescuers do what we do. Some dogs need us to rescue them from homelessness - others, like Andy, need us to bring them back to life through kindness and love.
