Adonis' story is a true rescue tale. When volunteers walk the halls of Animal Care & Control, we test for temperament and genuinely try to pull the dogs who arent likely to find homes. Adonis defined "unadoptable." He was completely bald and obviously suffering from a skin ailment which made him . . . well, more than a little stinky. He smelled like used-up feet. , But his itchiness and smelliness did not stop this little fella from wagging at everyone who walked by his cell. , A volunteer was drawn to this sad-sack of a dog. His baldness highlighted the many wrinkles in his skin, making it seem like his skin was just too big for his frame. "We have to save this one," she said. One look at him and we knew to expect a large vet bill. But what is money compared to Adonis' sweet-nature and 0% chance of adoption at a kill-shelter. We were there to save lives and there was no doubt about it, Adonis needed saving!!, Adonis was diagnosed with a non-contagious form of mange. He likely never knew love in his life and certainly never received proper vet care or nutrition., We have been treating Adonis' skin condition and a beautiful soft coat is growing back. Adonis is a very laid-back fellow. He serenely accepts affection, is a snuggle bunny and loves to soak in the sun. And his odor is gone. He is now a sweeeeeeeet-smelling hound., Adonis will make a fabulous family friend. He doesnt have an aggressive bone in his body. He wags like crazy around kids and other animals.
