Unknown breed / mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Senior Chihuahua mix
Okay. We went to the pound to pick up ONE DOG. No more. We had no room for any other dogs. Alright. We were at the pound. We had one happy, lucky dog on a leash and we were walking back towards the door. We refused to look left. We refused to look right. The corridor was lined with cages of animals who were scared and needed comfort. But we couldn't take anymore so we focused on getting to the door. DANG IT!!! We looked. In a kennel to our left was a little chihuahua mix listed as DOG OF THE DAY on his kennel. We knew what that meant - it was his last day. We couldnt take another step forward. The little dog wouldnt make eye contact and his haunches were trembling. After gentle pets and kind words, he wiggled into our laps. Well - now what?!?! Yes, it was true we had an extra leash. And it was true was had space in the car for one more dog. Now, we just had to find a foster. We gathered up the scared pooch and raced out of Animal Care & Control, cursing the fact that none of us own a pair of blinders. That's how Oliver came into our care. It is very apparant that this sweet boy has been abused. He bonds quickly with women but is fearful of men. OLIVER WILL THRIVE BEST IN A HOME WHERE HE IS NOT CRATED/CONFINED OR LEFT ALONE FOR LONG HOURS, SO SOMEONE WHO WORKS PART TIME/RETIRED/OR WORKS FROM HOME WOULD MAKE THE BEST HOME FOR HIM
