Bugsy came to Paw Placement in a saaaaaaaad state! He was used as a breeder dog in someone's backyard and when his fertility waned, they dumped him at a kill-shelter. He had never received vet care. His eyes were infected and the condition of his coat was beyond words. The amazing thing is that little Bugsy has the best outlook towards life. Even as he limped towards us, with pus in his eyes (ewwwww!) his little hairless tail wagged. This little guy doesnt let anything get him down. Weeks later, we are treating Bugsy's eyes. He gets Artifical Tears every few hours and his infection is clearing up. The vet does suspect that length of neglect has left Bugsy partially blind but his behavior doesnt show it. He prances and jumps, wags and kisses with the best of them. He plays with other dogs and holds his own. Bugsy is a true gentleman. He has been treated badly and had a rough life -- but that is all over. Bugsy is enjoying life in his foster home. He has beautifully responded to house-training with no indoor incidences. He is learning that cushiony-things to lay on are common place in the life of a pampered canine. Bugsy has so much love to give! |
