About Shiloh

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 2986
Shiloh lived his whole life with a single man who was an invalid. He never got out much and did not socialize with many people. Shiloh was very bonded with his human daddy. One day, however, his daddy died and Shiloh was taken to the Humane Society. He was scared and would growl in his kennel. For that reason, the Humane Society sent out a call for help with this little guy. They knew he was a sweetheart but they were also aware that he would never get adopted if he growled at those who were interested in him. Shiloh went into foster care with us. We have learned that he is initially stand-offish. However, once he feels comfortable in his surroundings, he bonds very deeply with individuals. Behaviorally, he is as sweet as can be, in house-trained, walks beautifully on the leash and is friendly with other canines. In foster care, he bonded immediately with his foster dad. He becomes protective of his favorite human which is something we are working on. He is NOT aggressive - just growly when insecure. If you want an extremely loyal companion, Shiloh is your guy. You will need to be receptive to our guidance on how to set up structure so that Shiloh learns to trust more than one person at a time. Because he is a little dog, we ask that Shiloh go to a home with no young children.
