UPDATE: Ryley is COMPLETELY cured of heartworms. He has become the perfect little animal friends. To see him prance around his foster home and cuddle with his foster mom, one would never guess that this boy has ever had a hard life. Ryley is now 100% housebroken and thrives on human companionship., Paw Placement is pleased to introduce you to our first survivor in our NEW Puppy Mill project. RYLEY is a 4-year-old Bichon mix who was rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri (one of the top 7 puppy mill states). He was used as a breeder there and lived in unspeakable conditions. No love. No kindness. Food mixed with saw dust. Barely enough room to move. Filthy. Ryley was brought to Arizona thanks to a huge rescue network dedicated to saving these dogs from a living hell. The National Mill Dog Rescue transported Ryley and many other puppy mill breeder rescues to Colorado. From there, AZ Chihuahua Rescue brought Ryley to Arizona. And that's when we rescued him., Ryley was groomed, he was cuddled, he was given nutritious meals and a big yard in which to run around. Slowly the life came back into his eyes and finally, one magical day, Ryley's foster mom walked in the room and Ryley wagged his tail. How easily these little creatures forgive humans!! However, after Ryley's first vet visit, he was diagnosed with Heartworms. NO! Not after all he has been through! But the prognosis was good and Ryley is responding like a champ to his medication. We expect a full recovery. Like all dogs in the Valley should, Ryley must receive his heartworm pill every month for the rest of his life. If you are looking for a little dog who loves to be held and will fall asleep blissfully in your arms or on your lap, this little guy is your dog. For all the love he was denied in his short life, he has sooooo much to give! |
