Harmony is a very sweet cat. All is right in her world no matter how bad of a situation she is in. A Paw Placement volunteer went to the pound to get a litter of kittens. All kittens who weighed under 2lbs. were to be euthanized. We could take nine little babies. When the volunteer got to the pound, she followed a staffer to the back cages. In one little cage, there was a mother who was purring gently while her kittens nursed. She looked at the volunteer with big golden eyes, while the pound employee put her kittens in a carrier and shut the cage door. The volunteer asked, "What is going to happen to the mother?" The pound employee said that no rescues had any room for adults, and that this momma cat was scheduled to be euthanized at 2PM. The volunteer looked at the beautiful cat, who stood up in her cage, stretched lazily, and then came to sit at the front of her confinement. She cocked her head and continued to blink gently at the volunteer. Paw Placement had no room for another adult. People aren't adopting like they used to . . . everyone wants kittens. Yet, even as she was thinking these things, she opened the door of this cat's cage and let her join her kittens in the carrier. Harmony gave a headbutt to the volunteer's hand as she strode into the carrier. And that is how Harmony came to us. She is a very sweet little cat who will bring serenity to any home lucky enough to adopt her.
