Shep is a wonderful boy who is great with everyone and everything. , He is an absolutely wonderful companion. He's very peaceful and loving. He happily engages in gentle play when his human companion initiates it. He's very sensitive and attuned to whatever his foster mom is doing - always quietly keeping an eye on her. He is his foster mom's self-appointed guardian angel: A very peaceful, loving presence that has taken to quietly following her from room to room, never letting her out of his sight. He lays quietly beside his foster mom's bed all night long and if she goes into a room and shuts the door behind her, then he waits peacefully outside the door for her return. He is housebroken and has no detectable bad habits (i.e, doesn't bark, chew, scratch, beg at the table, jump on visitors, or get on furniture). He is responsive to basic commands. He is very gentle toward kids, cats and other dogs. However, because of his size, it is recommended that he go to a home with kids older than age 8. Shep is meant to be a companion animal in the truest sense. He would be happiest in a home with another dog or where someone is home with him for much of the day. An added advantage of taking Shep into your family: The bad guys won't know that there's a sweet, gentle angel that probably wouldn't hurt a fly inside of that strong, police-dog-appearing exterior.
