Unknown breed / mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Senior : : Medium American Pit Bull
This little girl found her way to an industrial area in Mesa. She was so tired and hungry and just wanted to be touched. You could tell she had been on her own for awhile. She was very dirty and covered in cuts and ticks. She was taken in and in no time at all she was a new girl and very grateful to be loved on. Lucy is so loving and knows she has been given a chance to live a long, happy, and safe life. Lucy knows the basic commands and we can tell she is very smart. One of her challenges right now is meeting new dogs. Her fosters have her working with a trainer and she is doing well but still needs work. Despite that she is a great dog and wants to please but will still try to see what she can get away with sometimes. Lucy is perfectly happy sitting in your lap, cuddling with you in bed, running along side your bike, hiking, or running with you on the treadmill. Due to her energy level she would do better with older children, however she has been around toddlers and was very patient. She likes to be the boss and will do best as the only dog. Lucy has been around cats and is fine with them. This little girl wants to be in a forever home and settle into a routine. It is important to the current fosters that you be familiar with the breed. If you think you can give her exercise, structure and love she will be a devoted companion forever. If you would like to apply to adopt Lucy, click on "Contact Us About Lucy".
