About Trixie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 1856
Trixie comes to Paw Placement with quite the story. Although Trixie's story is brimming with love it is also quite sad. She had an owner who loved her very much but sadly they lacked a home to live in or money to provide for anything more than food., Through volunteers, Paw Placement became aware of Trixie's owner, who was living in his van with five dogs for whom he could provide food, but not much else. These dogs were very loved, but their owner was becoming desperate with summer heat approaching and nowhere to keep his dogs cool. He tried to keep the van cool with a little wading pool, but dogs were just too hot and their owner wanted nothing more than to help his dogs and help himself find housing. Five dogs was proving too big of a challenge, so with a heavy heart he accepted help and sadly handed us three of his beloved dogs. A friend is keeping a dog and then he hopes to find an apartment for himself and his one dog. , Trixie is a sweetheart and came to us with her 5 week old puppy Tulula! Both mom and daughter are sweethearts with mom housetrained and leash trained. Mom was a trooper through her shots and never even whimpered. She is a sweet, sweet soul and wants nothing more than to be in your lap and getting tons of loving pats! Her baby is still a week away from being weaned but we are ready to start looking for adopters for mom...and baby too if you are ready for the challenge of two girls to love! Please, please be sure that you are ready to provide Trixie not only with the love she is so used to but also with a home for the rest of her life. This little girl has really dealt with a lot and now needs to be pampered and not ever worry about losing her home and family again! (We also ask you to keep the third little dog, Tina, in your thoughts as she is 10 years old and came to us in desperate need of medical care for a very infected mouth. She is currently being treated by our vets and we are very much in a critical stage right now that is really heart breaking.) Sometimes in rescue the good things and bad things come mixed; this is truly one of those cases. We were able to step up to help, but at the same time this help meant a sweet sweet person giving away his beloved dogs. This was a very hard decision, but one that will allow Trixie and Tulula a chance to find a forever home and get the medical care that they need. At this point we are all just hoping that we were able to get Tina the medical help she needed in time to make a difference for her too.
