Tina comes to Paw Placement with quite the story. Although Tina's story is brimming with love it is also quite sad. She had an owner who loved her very much, but sadly they lacked a home to live in or money to provide for anything more than food. Through volunteers, Paw Placement became aware of Tina's owner, who was living in his van with five dogs for whom he could provide food, but not much else. These dogs were very loved, but their owner was becoming desperate with Tina needing medical attention not to mention summer heat approaching and nowhere to keep his dogs cool. He tried to keep the van cool with a little wading pool, but the dogs were just too hot and their owner wanted nothing more than to help his dogs and help himself find housing and medical care. Five dogs was proving too big of a challenge, so with a heavy heart he accepted help and sadly handed us three of his beloved dogs. A friend is keeping a dog and then he hopes to find an apartment for himself and his one dog. Tina is a sweetheart and came to us in desperate need of medical attention. She was severely dehydrated and suffering from an infected mouth/teeth. Our vet did not even think he could pull her through the night as her body temperature was already dropped. Tina had her mouth cleaned up, was given fluids and loaded with antibiotics. By the next morning she was standing and waiting for food! She managed to get half a can in her little five pound body and has been improving ever since! She is quite the hearty little eater and is now snuggling in on the bed at her foster home. Tina is on the mend and just starting to look for a very special forever family. Tina's lower jaw is only about half of the size of her upper jaw but she is now 10 years old and has made it just fine so far in life. She joins her foster sisters at the dog park nightly and is now strong enough to announce to all the that extra special senior has arrived! , Sometimes in rescue the good things and bad things come mixed; this is truly one of those cases as we were able to step up to help, but at the same time, help meant a sweet person giving away his beloved dogs. To say that we got this little one just in time is an understatement as she was truly in critical need of fluids and antibiotics. Today she is quite the little lady and will need a home that is quieter and probably without children..due to her tiny size and age. She is a very special little girl with a ton of love to give and all she needs back is your love and care.
