Domestic Short Hair : : Male : : Senior Black & White
Jackson and his siblings were born outside in an industrial lot, and were about 2 months old before they were discovered. They have spent the last 2 months getting used to living with people. Jackson is now ready for a cat-savvy person to share a home with. He is a typical black and white cat, with a variety of cattitudes, from snuggly and angelic, to rough and devilish! He is sometimes a comedian and a monkey, and cocks his head from side to side, listening while you speak to him, or make up songs using his name. He is still learning not to use his teeth when playing. For this reason, he should probably not go to a home with small children. He plays hard and enjoys interactive toys, like feathers dangling from a stick, or "playing ball" with the turbo chaser. He even likes to bat it back and forth with people! He's very content with a kennel and bed of his own to curl up in when he's tired. So far, Jackson has only been a lap cat when he's lonely. He'll require a slow introduction to his new home, with a small room or kennel, to begin with. He should be allowed one small piece of real estate at a time, and can NEVER be let outside. If he's allowed to, he'll bond to other cats and dogs and avoid humans, so he would do best as an only pet for the first few months. When Jackson learns to trust, he is loving and funny, and will ask to be held for a quick reassurance during which time he'll purr and rub you in gratitude. But he soon wants independence again, and will run and hide if he doesn't want to be picked up. Jackson hasn't completely forgotten that he was once a feral kitten, so he will need several weeks in his new home to gain confidence. If you think you have the patience and the kind of home Jackson needs, please complete an application. He's sure to provide you a lot of entertainment!
