Unknown breed / mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Senior : : Small Beagle
Tobreia was a stray, abandoned in a park. She was very ill and near death when one of our volunteers found her. Although she appears to be not quite a year old, we could tell that she had recently delivered puppies, which we unfortunately never found. We believe she was a breeder's dog who was abandoned due to her health. She is now healthy, happy and going strong. You would never know she was near death just three short months ago. She is a highly active, young dog who would do well in a home with another playful dog or two. She loves all children and dogs, but due to her playfulness, she should be adopted by a family with children older than ten and medium to large dogs, as, she is very exuberant in her play and could knock down a young child or a small dog. She plays about 16 hours of each day and should really be called the Energizer Bunny. When the battery does finally deplete, Tobriea loves to snuggle with her human friends, get a belly rub and take a long nap. She shows no dominance issues with any dogs or humans she meets. Her current foster family has six dogs and she blended right in, even with the dominant ones. She does, however, show an unusual interest in cats. She doesn't bite or hurt them, but chases them relentlessly, so she would do best in a home with no cats. Her potential family will also need to show patience and understanding in her ongoing potty training. Her ideal family would be familiar with the Beagle breed and their special training needs., She does well on a leash (although not perfect), likes to ride in the car, and loves chewing on stuffed toys and rawhides. Tobriea has brought much enjoyment and laughter to her foster family and she can't wait to share the love and laughter with her forever family. More about TobreiaGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
