Just by looking into Topaz's beautiful orange eyes, you would never know the hardship this kitty has already endured in her short life. Topaz was rescued by a Paw Placement volunteer from an abusive situation - but that hasn't affected her ability to give and receive love in the least. While in foster care, she snuggled right up to the family dog and made friends with all of the resident kitties. For this reason, we think that Topaz would do well in a variety of settings, but any children in her new home must be old enough to handle kittens with care. Topaz is tidy with the litterbox and already knows how to use a scratching post. Incredibly, her faith in humans hasn't been shaken at all. Her attitude seems to say, "You're big and kind - can you protect me?" Topaz's favorite place in her foster home was on the pillow in between her human mom and dad. She seeks out safe, warm laps for quiet time and is noticably calmer than most kittens her age. Who could ask for more in a feline companion?
