Toby's story: Toby came to In Defense of Animals when a very kind person at Channel 12 television in Phoenix asked for help for this cute little Sharpei. Toby is an 8 year-old sharpei who recently lost her family. Toby lived her entire life with one person and they were best friends who did everything together. Last week her friend, who had been ill and depressed, committed suicide. Toby was left alone and bewildered. Toby has lived her life as a companion in a house so she knows house manners. She will make someone a very loving and loyal companion but will need some special attention to help her through this very difficult period for a time. Toby would make a wonderful friend for a person living alone who has no other dogs or for an older couple who wants a loving, mature, trained companion.
