Sheltie/Spaniel Mix

Meet Lucky, who is truly aptly named! Lucky was adopted from the pound a year ago as a shy, skinny and scared little guy. He blossomed this year under the care of a very kind and gentle owner. Unfortunately, his owner needed to move into a place where she could have a little less to care for and get a little more care herself. She has truly loved this little guy - and he's very lovable! Lucky is a 3 year old sheltie mix neutered male. He is very gentle, good with cats and is house trained. He is used to using a doggie door. He's shy when he first meets people; a quiet, gentle, patient introduction will help him warm up quickly and soon he'll be showering you with kisses. He has good leash manners and LOVES his walks. He has a favorite doggy bed he sleeps in at night. He has not been around children much but seems gentle when introduced to those who are gentle with him and the children must be over the age of 8. He would be best in a home with friendly small dog or a feline friend. Because he is used to having his people around and experiences great distress when they aren't, he should go to a home with other animals and with someone who won't leave him alone for extended periods of time - a retired person or someone who works from home would be ideal. This very sweet, loving boy needs lots of affection and will return it tenfold! His little personality shines when he is loved by those around him.
