Sharpei Mix
Hiwa was found wandering the streets, then taken to Animal Care in hopes that his owners would come for him. When they didn't, a good samaritan pulled Hiwa and then sought out more help for him. Hiwa is Hawaiian for "black," which seemed to fit him appropriately. Hiwa is submissive toward other dogs and will lick around their mouths for their acceptance. He is currently crate-trained. He walks pretty well on a leash and will wander a little, but doesn't pull. He jumps up a little and can be mouthy when playing so he'll need some structure. Food, bones and toys have been taken away from him without a problem. He does try to play tug of war with the toy but does not snap or try to get the toy back. He is very sweet - always excited to see you and will give tons of kisses. More about HiwaGood with Dogs
