Armani looks like a miniature chocolate lab. When Paw Placement entered Animal Care & Control, the kennels were packed full and the euthanasia list was long. There sat little Armani, depressed to find himself in a scary and unfamiliar place. So many people give up their companion animals because they do not take seriously the love that their dog bestows upon them. As such, animals are turned into the kill-shelters because humans no longer have time for them or are moving or are getting married . . . the list of excuses goes on and on. The victims of these excuses sit in cold, fenced kennels confused and abandoned. Armani's face broke the heart of one volunteer. Even when she entered his kennel, he did not dance with anticipation but lowered his head, completely frightened. We decided to save Armani's life and only when he was safely away from the pound, did a glow come back into his eyes and his tail began to wag. And while Paw Placement is so glad to have given this great guy a second chance, we left so many others behind. Those dogs are no longer available for adoption - they have been euthanized. Armani represents most dogs in the pound - young, sweet-tempered and great family dogs. Unfortunately, the people who turned Armani into the pound represent the lack of commitment most pet-owners have towards furry friends.
