About Britney

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 324
Britney was one of approximately 15 dogs that a "breeder" had surrendered to AC&C. None of the dogs had been socialized and were not up for adoption to the general public due to the fact they had little interaction with humans. I went into Britney's kennel and crouched down next to her and began speaking to her softly. She slowly inched her way to me. Finally she came in contact with my hand and even licked me....that was all it took. Britney is now in foster care with other dogs and cats and really thrives on having the other dogs around her. Britney is still a little hesitant around new humans, but has made leaps and bounds in her socialization. Although shy and hesitant, Britney is very sweet and gentle and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She follows her foster mom all over the house and cuddles next to her at night. She does seem to be afraid of men and will bark and sometimes growl at them. We believe she associates men with the breeder person who had had her. She is going to need to go into a quiet adult home that can shower her with love and affection! The home MUST have another dog as well since she really LOVES having another canine friend to romp and play with....no exceptions.
