Black Poodle

A matted dog sat alone in a kennel at the AC&C. Wanting to see how this little guy reacted to humans, considering the horrible neglect he has obviously experienced at the hands of humans, we entered his kennel and crouched down to him. Without hesitation, Dudley came up, wiggling with joy that someone wanted to caress him. The poor little guy was probably in pain because his fur was completed matted from head to toe and he was also entwined with prickly burs. We couldn't even see little Dudley's eyes until we pulled back the mats. But despite his appearance, Dudley wagged his tail and did a happy dance over the fact that we were noticing him. There was no way we could turn away from such a sweet pup. Dudley is now in boarding where he interacts with other dogs all day and couldn't be happier. While shaving him down (something for which we should not leave our day jobs!)he was the perfect little gentleman and just sat there calmly and patiently until we were done. The trainer that he is boarding with just raves about what a great little guy Dudley is. We are not sure if Dudley is house-trained at this time, but he has not had any accidents in his large 8 x 10 kennel that he is boarded in.
