Finnish Spitz

There has only been one consistent thing in Cleo's life and that is neglect. Cleo has lived her whole life as a backyard dog - surviving in a dirt yard with little shade and even less attention from her humans. A kindly woman noticed Cleo and her yardmate, Zeus, suffering through the hot summer with their think fur coats becoming more matted as time passed. Neither dog knew the comfort of human kindness nor the relief of being allowed indoors. Upon inquiring about these neglected dogs, the woman learned that they were soon to be abandoned in that backyard. That's when they came into Paw Placement's care. The only thing sadder than a dog who has lived a life of neglect at the hands of humans is one who is abused by them. We are thankful that Cleo has suffered the lesser of these two evils (we hope!) and now it is time to show her that humans are capable of love and kindness. Cleo has learned to wag her tail around humans, to perk her ears up and to expect good things from our species -- her progress is a joy to watch. Cleo appears to be housetrained and is a very well-behaved little lady. She must go to an adult-only household where she can finally rest-assured that she is a beloved family member.
