Yellow Lab Mix

About Doogie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 165
Hi, My name is Doogie Bowser, Doogie for short. I?m a Yellow Lab mix, I?m , about 7.5 years old. I?m a big boy, around 72#. I love to take walks and , check out the neighborhood. I enjoy going for car rides and sit quietly in , the back seat. I?m a very good dog, and respond to the basic commands, come, , sit, stay. I?m a bit of a leash tugger, but I will stop when told. I follow , my foster mom from room to room, always at her side. Even though my foster , mom allows me on the furniture, I don?t jump up there. I?ve had an abusive , life before mom and she tries to make me feel safe. Since people physically , abused me in the past, I try to protect myself when people pull me by my , collar or physically push me. I don't mean to hurt anyone, but I'm still , frightened I will be hurt again, so I may snap at the person to make them , stop. When I'm frightened I do a thing with my lips to make them quiver. My , foster Mom has learned to read my "quiver lips" and she talks me down from , my fear and confusion. I am very insecure when there are other animals in , the home. My foster mom also has 2 cats, and I?m very jealous of them. So, I , need a home where I am the only animal because I need all the attention ... , I don?t mean to be jealous, but I am. I?m looking for a home without , children, maybe even a home where one person is home all day. My foster mom , has noticed that I?m not as jealous when she?s been at home for an extended , period of time, but she must go into an office (whatever that is) to work, , so I?m left alone with those 2 cats, and I get lonely without her here to , pamper me. So, if you have a childless home, or a person/couple with a lot , of time for me, and you don?t have any other animals, please make an , appointment to meet me. You'll be very happy you did!!!
